Midnight Ramblings

May 3, 2011

Disclaimer: The below post is brain damaging. Not recommended for sane adults, or logic driven folks. The below content is a true assimilation of the sleep-deprived author who will most certainly be late for work tomorrow, Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011, since she’s not asleep yet. Hopefully, better sense will prevail and she will give up on the idea of pulling an all-nighter tonight just because she thinks sleep is a bore today. Excuse the non disclaimer-ism of this ongoing disclaimer. If this disclaimer is anything to go by, you have been forewarned.

Ok. I just got shit irritated with myself for writing another rhyme. Ironically, it goes against the theme of the said rhyme (A New Old Friend) which coincidently and very aptly goes on to prove that I am really not writing about me or my “feelings” when I write, except this one post, wherein I have mentioned it clearly. Pls take note.

That’s the second irritating thing. Off late, too many readers (I love you, by the way) and fellow bloggers (I love you too, even though technically, you are competition) have been going, “Aww-shucks, you okay, doll?” at the many not so up-and- peppy blog posts. Well, can you blame me? I’m writing poetry for God’s sake. It’s supposed to be all boo hoo-ey and sentimental, otherwise no one will take it seriously!
By the way, one of the last rhymes, “The Perfect Catch” was supposed to be a humorous poem… but it was not received that way. No issue, I’ll get over it!

Going on, it’s the month of May. I love May! It’s very…. May-ey! Plus it’s the month of Taureans and anyone who knows me, knows I am a Taurus loyalist. I almost had a mini heart attack when the addition of the 13th astrology sign threatened to change my sun-sign. I would have gone on hunger strike… which would have assisted in my ongoing pledge to lose weight, which is never put to action. But getting back to the point, I love the month of May. That’s the point. And now that I already made that point, let’s think of another point.

I recently met 2 old friends of mine from school. It’s the one thing I’ve been trying to get out of for years. I have never wanted to meet any of my school friends… not because I don’t like them… I’m pretty fond these people… but because I’ve put on weight since school. The thin ones out there will roll their eyes and say “oh please!” and the plump one’s will scoff and say, “Jeez, that girl has confidence issues.” Well, I’d like to give both these parties a piece of my mind… and that piece says, “Hey! You are right!” Being overweight puts a big hit on your confidence levels… it is social conditioning at its worst. But that’s not the point. The point is I met these people. I picked up the phone and actually CALLED them. One up for me! I’m sort of proud of myself, as lame as it may sound. That bridge was finally crossed.

There is another buddy I’ve been avoiding meeting in person. Maybe I’ll cross that bridge too, someday.

Did I mention that I love the month of May? It is all summery and awesome. I can’t get over it! I love the month of May almost as much as I love my earphones. Sigh! I do love my earphones! I recall one of my batch mates saying I’m married to them. As per the new Indian law pertaining to live-in relationships, I may as well be! I love my earphones almost as much as I love to travel. And I’m a sucker for trips and travels. I love them almost as much as I love to write… and if you are still reading this post, you now know beyond doubt that I love to write. (I didn’t think you would’ve reached till here… this is a BAD post by ANY standard…)

I have run out of things to write about.
Well, I shouldn’t put up this post. But then I’ve never been of sound judgment, anyway…

Tell me what you thought of this post.
